1.—The said_harles James Milly

of the other part.

-(hereinafter

called the person engaged) hereby agrees, as soon as required by the Crown Agents for the Colonies, subject to Clause 2 below, to proceed to Hong Kong as a Pre-bmotably in the Police Force of the Government of that Colony, and to act in all respects according to the directions and instructions given to him by the Government of Hong Kong through its properly qualified officers, and he undertakes that he will faithfully and honestly fulfil the duties required of him by or on behalf of the Government of Hong Kong for the term of his engagement or for any future period of service if he should engage himself after the termination of the period for which he is now engaged.

2. The person engaged will continue to draw his allowance from Colonial funda while on military service and when released from military service will be required to undergo a medical examination by a duly qualified medical officer appointed by the Crown Agents for the Colonies as to his fitness for further service in the Hong Kong Police Force. If he is then passed as fit for further service, he agrees to proceed to Hong Kong as and when required by the Crown Agents for the Colonies. If he is not so passed, his appointment will terminate as from the date of such medical examination.

3.-A Second Class passage to Hong Kong shall be provided for the person engaged at the cost of the Government of Hong Kong.

4. The period of engagement is five years from the date of the expiration of the period of five years covered by the last previous agreement made with the person engaged.

5. Subject to the provisions of this Agreement the person engaged shall be bound by the conditions of service in the Hong Kong Polios Force hereto annexed, and shall, from the date on which his Colonial allowance while on military service cesses, draw salary at the rate to which he is entitled under such conditions.

6. The Crown Agents for the Colonies shall be in no wise personally liable for any matters arising out of this Agreement.
